Didn't enjoy this restaurant at all. From the other reviews I was expecting decent food, however I did not enjoy my meal. We paid forty pounds for a portion of nachos for 2, prawn fajitas for 2 and 3 cokes. The nachos came drenched in that cheesey sauce you'd get with nachos at a cinema. There were plenty but they were not nice. The prawns in the fajitas were served with the tails still on...not ideal for preparing a fajita. The prawns and veg were served on a hot plate as I have often seen in Mexican restaurants however a lot of them became stuck to the plate and were therefore burnt and black. Our waiter didn't seem to be about and i had to wait a fair while to order more drinks. I didn't think the food was good enough for what we paid and I wouldn't recommend it.

First time we have been to this restaurant and it was FAB.....the food was excellent, modeslty priced for a city centre restaurant and the portions were very generous! Thoroughly enjoyed it and would certainly recommend to anyone who likes tex mex food. Only down side was that, whilst it was a warm friendly atmosphere, it was a bit noisy - but that may have been due to the large group of ladies who were cebrating a 30th birthday !!! Staff were friendly and attentive. Will certainly put it on my list as a place to go back to !

Disappointed

After having been to Blue Coyote once before and had a great night and a lovely meal we thought we would try it again. We were very disappointed to find this time the bar and restaurant staff but one were very unhelpful and unfriendly! The barmaid couldn't be bothered to explain the difference in cocktails when she gave us a choice of two margarita's and the guy who we think was the restaurant manager was very unfriendly to say the least. It was like none of the staff wanted to be there!!! Not to mention the bar area seem to have attracted the wrong clientele. Don't think we will go here again.

Best Mexican in Toon

The Blue Coyote is not only the best mexican in Newcastle but probably the best I've been too anywhere. The menu offers a wide choice of delicious food, with options for anyone who doesn't like too much spice. The drinks are average price for Newcastle with a good selection, and the atmosphere and service can't be faulted. The restaurant is well laid out and the decor & mood music are fitting to the style of food. Also it is one of the few places that doesn't rip you off with a poor quality, over-priced Xmas menu. My fave off the menu is chimichanga's and I can't recomment it enough!

I haven't been to many mexican restaurants before and the ones i have been to haven't really impressed me at all. As a result i went expecting not to like Blue Coyote. I was really suprised because it was wonderful! I had such a fantastic night out, partly because of the food and partly because of the staff. The service here is excellent and the emphasis is definitely on fun! The staff are so friendly you can't help but involve them in your conversation. The food is traditionally mexican and tastes gorgeous, not too spicy either which is good for my bottom!Prices are reasonable considering the amount of food you get

We visited Blue Coyote before a foo fighters gig last year, there was a group of 5 and the staff were very accommodating, the food was tasty and the cocktails popular amongst our group. Although the place wasn't packed there was a nice atmosphere about the place. My steak was nicely cooked and the veg lovely, I have since visited with my girlfriend and we had another enjoyable meal with the mini tapas starter a particular highlight, tex mex places can be a bit average in my experience but I must admit blue coyote was a cut above the places I had tried before. I would recommend this place to anyone who asked
