Our Story

At Bonfit, we've come a long way since we started out as Winick Furniture Fittings in 1953, the coronation year of Queen Elizabeth II. It's still our family's firm with family values that remain true to this day – excellence, honesty and hard work.

Founded

The firm was founded by brothers Max and Jack Winick. Although based in only a small premises in Highbury, Islington, the business very successful at making fittings for reclining chairs and mechanisms for sofa beds. In 1969 Max's 18-year old son, Sam Winick, joined and put in a 48-year shift to date.
