About Carolyn

I qualified from a STAT approved training course in 1995, and am certified as an Alexander Teacher both by STAT (Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique) and ATI (Alexander Teaching International).

I enjoy teaching the Alexander Technique to individuals at my practice in Hampstead Garden Suburb/Temple Fortune, London NW11, and also run introductory groups on request. I have a special interest in raising awareness of the Technique in schools, and run sessions for teachers, parents and children explaining how the Alexander Technique can prevent the poor posture-related habits that cause problems for so many of us in later life.

I have an MA in English Literature from Cambridge University, a Certificate in Counselling Skills (CAC) and am qualified as an NLP Master Practitioner.

My Approach

I aim to teach in a way that is enjoyable, interactive and enlightening, making a positive difference to a person's state of mind and body in the short term, and their overall health and wellbeing in the long term.

As well as helping you apply the Alexander Technique in common situations such as walking, sitting, standing etc., I am very happy to help you explore how you can perform particular activities with greater ease. For example:
public speaking and singing, playing a musical instrument or a sport, using a computer, driving a car, or even cooking!

I charge £40 for a 45-minute lesson.
