How I wish I had read the previous reviewers comments before going with the Banbury Carpet and Flooring company! We also chose the company because they were local, despite being more expensive. The carpet fitter came and installed the carpets but managed to rip out a newly installed curtain rail. In putting this right they ripped out the other side and didn't mention it. When this was raised with the owner, Dale Fletcher, was very laissez-faire and said this had nothing to do with him, and any complaints should be raised with the fitters. He did not offer an apology for the damage or the inconvenience. We ended up making the repairs ourselves since we had no faith that they wouldn't further damage the house. In order to pay the fitters, we asked for an invoice from them for the fitting, since the Carpet and Flooring Company were disclaiming any responsibility for the service. I was astonished when the fitters then turned up at our doorstep demanding payment less than a week after having sent the invoice, despite the fact the cheque was already in the post. And even more astonished to receive an email from Dale chasing us for payment. Disappointing service doesn't begin to cover it.

We chose the carpet and flooring company because it was a local shop rather than a big company, the shop was smart and the owner pleasant enough. We got the quotation and we gave the go ahead, the carpet fitter came (very good, quick and professional). When doing the bedroom, the fitter said than the doors needed cutting and that it would be £15 each in this case 5. We looked at the quotation and this extra cost was not mentioned, even though the fitter said it was normally on the written quote. We called the owner. He was very patronising on the phone, saying that noone else had ever complained and everyone knew that it was common practice. In the end we did it ourselves because we thought it was a very bad business on his part not to mention this cost. We did not want to pay an extra £75 for 30 minutes work when the whole installation was supposed to cost £140. Disappointing service.
