About Us...

People always tell us it's really hard to find a 'great pub' in Wales. Not any more. Long ago, in our distant past we launched the first Welsh gastro pub and we've returned to our roots to renovate this charming Inn.

In the best traditions of a Welsh coaching inn it has always been a place for travellers and visitors to rest, to replenish and recharge their batteries. It still is today.

A warm and friendly place to unwind, you'll find a proper traditional bar, a roaring log fire to toast your toes and plenty of comfy sofas in which to lose yourself with a good book.

The original rustic charm and character is still there, but we've added a few modern, fresh ideas.

Our own love of food guarantees some seriously good food by our talented chefs. 'Keep it real and simple, make it good and honest'.

We're owned by chefs, so it's no surprise that fantastic food is our number one priority, our first love, our big thing. Sean Gerrard, along with his talented team of chefs here develop the Castle menus to fully embrace the Taste Inn Wales ethos - seasonal, fresh, hearty and tasty. The menus are inspired by tradition, created with imagination to appeal to the most ardent fans of modern British food.

At the Castle we are firm believers in relaxed, unpretentious dining, open all year round for lunch and dinner. Everyone is welcome here. The focus is on the food, the atmosphere and making people feel right at home.
