Restaurant - Mexican in Coventry

I found this little gem by chance. You have to enter through a takeaway below the actual restaurant which was unusual. However, once inside I was made feel instantly at home by Mike the barman who was polite, chatty and very knowlegable of both the cuisine and Coventry in general. I was then introduced by name to Andy the Chef ( and owner I think) who asked me what kind of food I liked and suggested a mixed plate of jerk chicken and rice and peas and also a bowl of his curried goat. This was washed down with a potent 7.5% Imported Guinness! I must say that the Jerk Chicken was the tastiest I have ever had. and the curried goat was good too. What made it even better was when Andy produced some freshly baked Trinidadian Bread (on the house!) to dip into the curried goat sauce and generally mop up any remaining juices. Unlike many Caribbean restaurants which I sometimes find a bit overspiced and under flavoured Andy seems to have got the balance perfect. Just good honest food. The perfect remedy for a cold wet night in Coventry! Overall very impressed, oh and by the way after dinner it turns into a banging night club if the rum gets you in the mood for some beats! Highly recommended!
