About Us

Toni McCaskie has been working in the interior design industry and making curtains, blinds and accessories for over 20 years.

Having been brought up in the UK by parents who were architects, Toni grew up talking about proportion and style. She moved to New Zealand at the age of 19 and began her career working in an interior design shop where she learnt all aspects of the trade.

She moved on to start her own business making curtains and blinds from a studio at her farm and discovered she had a real passion and flair for finding the right fabric and using it in a creative and exciting way. She continued to take on private work whilst also working for major design companies in New Zealand before relocating to England.

She has now established her own business in the UK in Birdham, West Sussex, where she is already making an impact in the local area around Chichester with her stunning, contemporary curtain designs.

Using her experience, Toni recognises from both sides the importance of quality, communication and promptness. She knows instinctively how to use even the most economical fabric to its best advantage and combines colours, patterns and textures to achieve the perfect individual finish.

Accessories

Curtains by Design is not only able to provide you with a bespoke made-to-measure curtain and blind service, but we also are able to create a whole variety of accessories to enhance your room furnishings.

Your curtains can be accessorised with pelmets, tie backs, swags, tails and trims in the same fabric or contrasting material. Whatever your vision, we can help you achieve it with our beautifully made accessories.

If you wish to have other soft furnishings to match your curtains or blinds, such as cushions, duvet covers and throws, we can discuss your requirements and make them to order. Even if you already have curtains, we can create additional accessories in toning or contrasting material.
