Utilising a comprehensive range of machine tools, which include high technology CNC Machining Centres, as well as conventional methods. Our skilled staff can rapidly engineer high quality components to your individual requirements.

TURNING

Two full CNC turning centres are complemented by three manually operated centre lathes. All machines are of the chucking variety and are suitable for large batches of components and prototypes.

MILLING / JIG BORING

A DMG vertical machining centre with thermal compensation enables us to jig bore to very high tolerances. Other Bridgeport machines although not quite as fast, regularly achieve excellent accuracy on all other milling applications.

GEAR SHAPING

We are currently running three horizontal gear shapers and one vertical gear shaper. These are of Sykes and Drummond origin. They allow us to cut internally and externally both straight and helical gears ranging from 25mm to 600mm diameter. We also offer a cut only service where we cut gears using customers free issue material, or we can supply complete. Furthermore, we are in constant contact with heat treatment services, including nitriding (gas and plasma).

GRINDING

We can offer both internal and external grinding as well as surface grinding.

DYNAMIC BALANCING

Using two machines we have the facility to dynamically balance rotors ranging in weight from 1 oz to 10 c.w.t., regularly achieving tolerances of BS G2.5 on the larger machine, and G1.0 on the more sensitive smaller machine. Out of balances are typically corrected by the removal of material i.e. drilling spherically ended holes where necessary.

QUALITY CONTROL

Our quality standards are reflected by a Mitutoyo three axis co-ordinate measuring machine in a temperature-controlled environment.

Motor Trade

We offer a service to the motor trade such as: re-faced cylinder heads, skimmed discs and drums etc. We are also willing to assist in the manufacture of obsolete parts - vintage cars a speciality.
