Diabetic Patients

Diabetic patients are always welcome,David is available to carry out diabetic assessments and give advice on preventative foot care.

Athletes Foot

Athletes Foot is caused by a fungal infection usually between the toes but can also be found in other areas of the foot.It appears white in colour between the toes and of a peeling appearance elsewhere.Creams can be purchased to combat this problem.

Corns and Calluses

Corns and Calluses appear due to pressure on the skin.This can be caused by shoes or by toes rubbing against each other.They can be found in any area of the foot.

Flat Feet

Flat Feet is caused by dropped arches.These can sometimes be rectified by various paddings or insoles inserted into shoes.

Footwear

David is available for advice on all types of footwear.

In-Growing Toe Nails

In-Growing Toe Nails can be caused by ill fitting shoes or badly cut toe nails.Treatment involves cutting away a sliver of nail and dressing accordingly.In severe cases an operation is necessary.

Nail Cutting

Nails should be kept to the shape of the toe to avoid in growing toe nails.Thickened nails can be greatly reduced by drill filing.Fungal infected nails can be treated by solutions or tablets prescribed by your doctor.

Verrucae

Verrucae are common warts which are caused by the verrucae virus entering the skin.They have a cauliflower look appearance.They can appear anywhere on the foot including under a nail.They are usually raised but on the sole they can be flat due to weight bearing.
