Must avoid where possible !
Where to start..... I went to rent a house through these guys paperwork all sorted money sorted day came for keys.... "Oh some one has moved in" was NOT the words I expected but did get. So a week later offered a SLIGHT discount due to the cock up on another property. Everything was great for the first year then DAMP. I reported it and was told the house was previously flooded and dried out then redecorated (dehumidifies used) the complaints went on for a further yr then I decided to pack up and move out due to health issues so mr (very rude) David Hawkins comes round to check damage. I am told it is my life style that has caused damp on EVERY WALL downstairs and upstairs. Clear pictures of damage to exterior and guttering was show and still MY FAULT. Apart from the fact he is a very rude man he has no idea on anything structure or damp related, professionals have checked the property out and have said its down to structure, but still DAVID KNOWS BEST. I am now fighting for my bond back and being the ignorant man he is, he is purposely taking weeks to return a reference to my possible new landlord meaning I can't get my new property ! I am currently at my mothers with my stuff in this damp house. I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU AVOID THIS ESTATE AGENTS The ladies in office are friendly and nice but the owner is (I can't say) nothing but money. Looking at the business history also shows a lot. Repo on one office !

BEWARE
*****BEWARE****** I rented a house from David Hawkins. There were so many problems with the house I don't have time to list them but I will tell you about the worst bit. When I moved in they had dehumidifiers in which they told me was to dry the plaster out (it was actually to hide the massive damp problem in the property). I moved in and as soon as the dehumidifiers were removed damp started appearing on every wall. It was the worst damp I have ever seen. It was on exterior and interior walls. I called David Hawkins every week for a year reporting the problems I was experiencing. They were no help at all. David Hawkins himself came to the property and said it could be condensation (Take a look at the pictures and decide if you think this is condensation). They kept telling me to bear with them and eventually admitted they had hired cowboy builders to do the plastering. They told me that they were in contact with the damp proofing and plastering company trying to sort it out (they never did get in touch with them, surprise, surprise). The damp ruined every piece of furniture I had and David Hawkins refused to pay me any sort of compensation for it. They only offered to move me to another property when I threatened to get in environmental health. They still owe me half a month's rent as I had to move out half way through the month (the damp was so bad I had no choice, look at pics) and they refused to refund me my half months rent or take it off the 1st month's rent on my new property. Here we go again........ The new house was not much better. It was very cold, seals on the windows and doors were broken and the window upstairs was dangerous, so dangerous in fact that they had to replace it. I got so sick of the way I was treat by David Hawkins that it put me off ever renting again. I decided to buy my own house so I would never have to deal with a company like David Hawkins again. WORST ESTATE AGENT
This so called estate agent firm is the absolute worst company that I have ever dealt with. I have gave this company a one star rating only because I was unable to give it a zero star rating Through my job I have to travel a lot and have therfore rented a lot of properties on a short term lease and I can honestly say that I have never experienced such appalling customer service. All this company are interested in is taking your money, they will not do any maintenance or repairs. When you telephone to report a problem they will deny that you ever rang or plead ignorance which means that you will have to keep ringing and each time they will say that they don't know anything about the problem. Basically they will tell you bare faced lies. Please any prospective landlords or tenants, avoid this company at all costs
