The experience David Powles has gained in over 40 years as a Sound Engineer in the professional music business, has not only been technical, but also understanding the artist's needs to perform to their best ability

Since joining Electrosound, one the UK's most prominent Sound Hire companies in 1970, David toured with many diverse internationally-renowned, as well as not-so-renowned, artists.

In 1985 David moved to Germany, working mostly as a freelance sound engineer for artists (particularly Folk musicians) on tour as well as numerous corporate productions, such as galas, conferences.

In 2003 he started David Powles Audio Consulting in Germany, passing on his knowledge and experience to younger technicians and musicians, as well as working further as a freelance Sound Engineer.

Recently he has decided to get back to his real passion, putting his experience into working with acoustic musicians, and he and his wife moved to Northern Ireland. Here he has founded Specialist Audio Services to support professional level, as well as up-and-coming artists, using his experience to help them achieve great results while working with Pro Audio equipment.

Amplifying acoustic-based music and vocals for an audience requires a different approach to live sound technology to the standard Pop and Rock Music equipment generally used by sound hire companies. It also recquires the skill and expertise of a very experienced Sound Engineer who has extensive experience of music, Live Sound and satisfying the often complex requirements of performing artists at all levels, while at the same time, passing on his experience to developing technicians.

David Powles Specialist Audio provides high-quality yet compact and affordable, professional sound services, particularly suited to acoustic music. Our aim is to provide a live audio platform for Artists, at both professional and developing levels, to perform their art with satisfaction and confidance, controlled with empathy and passion by a highly experienced internationally-known Sound Engineer.

This service is not designed solely for professionals, David Powles is equally dedicated to the support and training of young and developing technicians and artists
