Dissatisfied customer

We bought a fire from Stanningley Fires and in my opinion it was the worst mistake we could have made. When they came to fit the fire we had ordered, the person fitting it found that he had forgotten to measure the depth and the fire we had ordered was too big and they would have to fit a slimline version. Our original fire was a 4.4 output but the slimline would be a 4.1 output. The day after it was fitted, on reading the instructions we found the fire only had a 3.2 output!! On contacting the company they said they had gone by Paragon's website (which was 3 years out of date), and would not accept any responsibility as they said they had bought in good faith from Paragon, which is what we had done when buying from them. We contacted Paragon and they admitted their website was out of date but said Stanningley Fires would have had up to date brochures, but apart from that it was Stanningley Fires responsibility to check the fire to make sure it was the correct one. We found it almost impossible to talk to the owner of the shop, he was either not in or would phone us later (which never happened). On the actual two occasions we managed to speak to him, he put the phone down on us. In my opinion the owner of this business has little or no business integrity and in my opinion I would not recommend buying a fire from this company.
