Unpleasant experience

I contacted Eco Torque for gear box repair after some research and this excellent piece on their website quoting price of £595. https://www.eco-torque.co.uk/post/m32-gearbox-guide-to-faults-fixes When we spoke they suggested price might be higher if any gears needed replacing but I would be informed before any work done. However, after drop off I was told not only gearbox was unrepairable but it was in pieces and car undriveable. They also announced a charge of £150 (a possibility not previously mentioned and not in their terms and conditions) and said I couldn't leave the vehicle on their premises whilst I contacted removal truck scrap yard. They also refused to help push the vehicle onto the main road to wait for collection offering only to move it onto private land where it would be parked illegally. When I asked for advice on local scrap yards they said they did not know any but offered to waive the £150 charge if I ‘sold’ the vehicle to one of the mechanics.
