Fabulous Tapas

I can't rate El Toro highly enough. The tapas here are without doubt the best i have tasted! The place itself is well decorated and has a cosy family but yet sophisticated type of vibe going on. Difficult to descibe properly! The staff are without doubt some of the friendliest i have been served by too! nothing is too much trouble. The place does get busy however so booking is essential. The amount of food you get is also amazing, almost a meal in itself! There is such a diverse choice of what to have, you never really know what to choose! prices are quite fair for what you get though

El Toro

El Toro is my favourite tapas place in Newcastle, the atmosphere is lively but not too noisy, the staff welcoming and helpful, the food is also very nice and the set menu normally leaves everyone on the table stuffed with plenty of food left over, the last time I went there was so much food when they brought out a bonus dish of spare ribs everyone groaned as they looked lovely but no one could quite manage to eat a full one. They are also very accommodating with birthdays and also big tables, If I was going to recommend one tapas place in Newcastle I would definitely recommend El Toro

Best tapas in town!!!

El Toro is in a great location for after work or pre-night out food, just off Dean Street it is pretty central. The menu is very large which can make choosing your dishes pretty difficult but don't be tempted to order too many! between two people about five dishes will be enough as the servings are pretty generous. The atmosphere inside is always lively and the bar is aways pretty busy as they don't take bookings for tables of two until they open that night, it seems strange but the place is always so busy you would never get to eat there otherwise!!! It can sometimes take a while to be seated so calling in to book a table as soon as they open would be advised if you had somewhere to be afterwards. The bill at the end of a meal has always surprised me, for two people sharing about five dishes including a bottle of wine the bill has rarely been over £30/£35, great deal for the centre of town!!!
