Exeter Planning is a home based consultancy. This means overhead costs are kept to a minimum, and these savings are passed on to clients.
Planning permission is required for “development". There are two forms of “development"; building work and change of use of land or buildings.
I thoroughly recommend Exeter Planning. I count my lucky stars when I came across their website. They were very patient, explaining the type of application I needed. They were totally efficient, reliable and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure from start to finish. Thank you again

I live in a Green Belt area where it’s almost impossible to get planning permission. I suffered from a restriction on my property’s permitted development rights imposed by the Council in 1993. I discovered that such conditions should only be imposed in exceptional circumstances and I approached various consultants all of whom dismissed the possibility of getting the condition lifted. Paul gained 16 years extensive planning experience as a local authority solicitor. He did not rule out my case as “difficult” or something beyond him (as the other consultants had). The application was made to a very difficult Council and the Inspector at appeal found their inaction was “unreasonable behaviour”. I appealed against non-determination of the application and with Paul’s assistance succeeded in having the condition lifted – and obtaining a full costs order against the Council! I can recommend Paul wholeheartedly. His knowledge and interest is first class!
