occasion from a Hot Shellfish Platter to a
bowl of mussels on the run. Daily
specials, set lunch/ pre-theatre menu
and our extensive wine list complement
our fresh, seasonal menus. The a la carte

of course our Fishers Favourites menu
has our guests returning over and over again.
Turn left on Hanover Street, between George and Queens St
Best fish cakes in town. Daily specials of fish so fresh you can almost see the heartbeat. Laid back atmosphere. Own labelled wine now from Stellenbosch in South Africa - light, drinkable - the perfect accompaniment to their food. The bar is great too for snack if you're in a rush or to meet for drinks - a pearl in the heart of Edinburgh.

A group of us went for a meal on a mid-week night. It is one of a few around the area. Nice and central but off the main road. As the name suggests it is a fish restaurant, however if you want a meat or veggie dish I am sure you'll still enjoy. The menu choice was excellent and whilst not huge we all struggle to make our final choice. Those that had mussells had huge portions for starters and were full of praise. We were equally pleased with the main dishes and desserts.House wines were excellent quality and price. We were even offered a taster first. Our waiter for the evening was a true professional and very helpful. Whilst I only get to go to Edinburgh a couple of times a year I would definately recommend this to anyone who like fish.

Had a lovely time in fishers it is almost as good as the one in leith. Set out in dark woods and nautical motifs as you would expect and also has a fish tank (not tacky as in some Chinese places). Went for their famous fish soup for a starter good and filling as ever. Main course of langoustine and garlic fresh as could be. Couldn't face a pudding as i was full from the soup/main. Service prompt and pleasant. Would recommend as it rarely fails to please.

This was the first of many meals we had during our 3 days of eating in Edinburgh and it ranked as one of the best. The fish and seafood were very fresh and the choice of food and wine was exceptional. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. We would highly recommend it
