Do not buy a floor from Floors 2 Go

My advice is simple; do not buy a floor from floors 2 go! Our experience was awful, we purchased an oak floor and were told that we needed to pay upfront (£1250) which we foolishly did (it turns out that you actually need to leave 15%), they confirmed our floor was ready for collection and when we arrived with the floor fitter (who was booked for 2 days) to collect they said it was not in stock, it also came out at this point that we had been miss-sold the floor as a click system not tongue and groove which it actually was and also advised that we could use the same underlay that was down under our current floor, all of which the floor fitter confirmed was untrue and the cost of fitting just shot up by £200, when we asked about a refund they said it was company policy not to refund even though they had failed to deliver beyond their own latest estimated delivery date by 3 days (it was 3 weeks and 2 days that we went to collect the floor in the first attempt). Speaking to the Store Manager was a complete waste of time, the general attitude was to pass the book, blame others and not actually try and resolve the issue (I could write a chapter on this part of this horrendous part of the experience but it would take me the rest of the day). After reading reviews like this one when I returned home and also reading that Floors 2 Go had gone in to administration last year I was eager to try and get a refund and spent an afternoon on the telephone trying to make contact with someone at their head office which was a task in it's self, finally I got a call back from the Area Manager who confirmed that our floor would be in store a week later and although a refund was not available they would throw in some underlay as compensation/goodwill! I went to collect the floor a week later and was offered one roll of underlay which was half of what was needed to cover the amount of flooring purchased but at this point I advised that I was passed arguing but I did need to exchage a door strip that had been again miss-sold I was told and this is in the Store Managers words and not mine......"you are taking the P@@S" Save yourself the hassle and buy elsewhere, companies like this should not be in business!
