Mixed ability, daytime and evening ceramic classes. Sue Clark trained at Camberwell College of Art and specialised in hand-built individually designed pieces, each with its own unique character. Sue will begin by teaching you the basic 'coil technique' and 'slab technique'; then with lots of one to one tuition from Sue you will be able to produce your own ideas, vases, bowls, sculpture, wall plaques...and much more! All work is made from slabs or coils, not thrown on a wheel. This means that anyone, whatever their skill level, can make interesting and beautiful work.
Evening and daytime Watercolour classes: Clive teaches from absolute beginner level, starting with basic brush techniques, how to mix colour, and how you can develop these techniques to produce your own watercolour paintings. From there Clive will aid your growth as an artist and help you to build up a more advanced skill set.
Daytime Drawing classes, suitable for beginners. Emil will teach basic drawing techniques for both pencil and charcoal. You will be taught how to mark-make with both mediums, and learn the best tools to achieve different effects. From there you will learn to draw the subject of your choice. Students are advised to bring photos, pictures, books or objects to draw from. Emil with teach you how to plan out a drawing, and the step by step stages to complete it in detail.
Gallery Seventeen is just around the corner from Beckenham Junction Station Train and Tram Stop. We are just across the road from a bus stop with bus to and from Shortlands, Bromley, Penge, Crystal Palace, Lewisham and Elmers End.
