Why Book A Toastmaster?

As a professionally trained toastmaster and from his experiences, Garry understands that for any type of event the organisers, whether it be a couple for their wedding, a President of a Masonic Lodge or a charity fund raising manager, wants to be able to relax and enjoy the day without having to worry as to whether everything is proceeding to schedule. He is on hand to ensure that everything runs smoothly, just exactly as you expected when you spent time together planning the day.

For many traditionalists, if you mention the word toastmaster, it conjures up an image of a gentleman clad in a red tailcoat making announcements at a function. However that role has changed somewhat over recent years organisers now expect so much more from their Toastmaster. This may be a relaxed and modern style but could also include a far greater spectrum of duties.

Leaving the event to chance that everything happens as you'd hoped is often a concern for many. By engaging Garry's services, many of these timekeeping concerns are eliminated. You are probably eager to use a team of professionals who can ensure that very special atmosphere, tailored to your own unique style. Garry might be considered as ‘the glue that sticks the day together', your own personal co-ordinator who knows, from regular contact in the build up, how you want the day to flow. Take advantage of his knowledge and include Garry in any preparations on matters of etiquette and protocol. Garry will be available as support to help make your day perfect.

Sabrage

The art of Sabrage is a tradition which dates back to Napoleons army, where soldiers demonstrate their dexterity by removing a cork from a Champagne bottle using a Sabre. Since 1999 The Confrérie du Sabre d'Or has been active in promoting this skill in the UK and some toastmasters now offer it as part of their portfolio. Garry is a licensed Maître-Sabreur and Officer in The Confrérie du Sabre d'Or, and is permitted to instruct clients on the method. This can add another element of excitement to any type of celebration. Obviously at a wedding, it's ideal for a bride or bridegroom, after which the sword can be used to cut the wedding cake.

Testimonials

Hi Garry, A quick note to say a hearty thank you for doing an absolutely first-class job at our wedding. I must admit that in the naive days of my bachelorhood, 'toastmaster' was not a role I'd really been aware of, but I would recommend you my friends as the first person to call whether they had considered a toastmaster or not - our wedding day was undoubtedly an even happier and certainly less stressful day for your presence! The name 'toastmaster' would suggest a fellow who organises the toasts and makes the announcements, which you did with impeccable class and looked every inch the part, but you were much, much more than that. From the arrival of my ushers all the way until the first dance you kept the entire day on track from behind-the-scenes as well. You appeared to be everywhere at once at just the right time - tieing cravats, pinning button-holes, discretely producing tissues for greasy fingers and gifts for bridesmaids, ushers and the all-important mother-in-law! I have a memory of you sprinting discretely across the lawn (who would have thought that was possible in a bright red tailcoat..?) to head-off the photographer before he could spirit us away for another half an hour and ruin everyone's starters! It was also a huge help to us to be able to meet up before the big day itself to ask questions of protocol and what to expect on the day. It helped calm pre-wedding nerves and gave us confidence that everything would be alright on the night. Thanks again Garry, it was a pleasure to have you be part of the day that we'll remember for the rest of our lives, All the best

Chaz and Carmen

Dear Garry We're not sure how we can put into words just how fantastic you are and there are definitely no words to explain how thankful we are to have had you overseeing our wedding day ! Nothing was too much trouble and you really did ensure that everything went absolutely perfectly - putting out fires, overseeing our group photo's and ensuring that no one was missed - which of course Claire's mother was from the first one - and of course doing the Best Man's speech... honestly you were absolutely amazing! If anyone ever doubts having a Toastmaster just ask them to call us - you were the epitome of professional and a true gent and our wedding day would not have been what we had wanted without you there. So a very heartfelt thank you from us both Garry Claire and Paul
