Disappointing.

The reason Gastro Bistro gets 3 stars instead of 2 is that the place is gorgeous and the staff are lovely. Only problem was the food is really really disappointing. They do this £7 meal thing which means you get a burger and drink for £7, or bangers and mash etc. On a work's 'do' I was there and most of us ordered the burger to be told that there were only 3 left. When the burgers they did have finally arrived they were tiny and placed in the middle of a massive plate with literally a smattering of small chips around them. No salad or anything (which you kinda expect). My burger was rare instead of well-done so I couldn't finish it and couldn't ask for another because they had none. Everyone was still hungry afterwards and so ordered dessert. Again, there were items on the menu that they didn't have. We ordered cheesecake which was very bland and again disappointing. I would not eat here again, definitely not. I'd go in for a drink because as I said, it's a lovely place but the food was a big let-down. You can pay the same kind of money elsewhere and have a very good meal. It's a shame because it's such a nice place.
