About Us

Halton YMCA is an integrated approach to meeting the needs of young people during their transition from dependence to independence by initiating affordable accommodation, training and employment. We aim to provide young people with a period of stability and allow them to make friends, local links and develop their own support networks.Halton YMCA's fundamental aim is to help young people achieve their potential by providing a number of services which help them to integrate the various aspects of their lives.

Get Involved

Halton YMCA is a registered charity and relies on external funding to run its services. At Halton YMCA we don't believe in getting something for nothing, and so try to offer donors fun and exciting ways to get involved. From jumping out of a plane to attending our gala dinners, all donations are greatfully received and go direct to helping our residents.

Housing Management

Halton YMCA was established in 1969 and has been providing accommodation services since 1974. The organisation is affiliated to YMCA England and has delivered a Supporting People housing programme on behalf of Halton Borough Council at its Halton Lodge site since 2003. In delivering this contract the organisation works with a wide range of vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals to provide accessible, safe, secure and supported accommodation to meet their needs. Halton YMCA has developed a strong reputation for delivering high quality and accessbile support that assists the individual to both make informed choices about accommodation, to access levels of support they require, to plan routes to independence, to explore career prospects and appropriate training and to work to develop their longer term housing and emplyment opportunities.

Training

The Training Department at Halton YMCA offers a wide range of education and training opportunities to people from the Halton borough. This programme supports learners aged 16 to 18 or 19 to 25 years with learning difficulties/disabilities.
It offers a range of targeted vocational opportunities, functional skills and personal development. All of which can result in accredited qualifications. Working with young people aged 14-16 this programme offers a mix of vocational taster sessions, employability skills and functional skills. Halton YMCA work in close association with a number of Halton based secondary schools and Key Stage 4 Engagement team in the delivery of this programme.
