About

About Us

Established over 450 years ago, Hampton School has built a very strong sense of identity. It is this essence of being a 'Hampton Boy' that shapes our pupils in their academic studies and personal development.

About Us

Hampton is a friendly, lively and unpretentious school for boys.

The School is a community where success is based upon achievement rather than the pursuit of narrowly defined targets.

We welcome academically-minded pupils from both maintained and independent schools, irrespective of ethnic group and background, and of their religious or non-religious beliefs.

We encourage every boy to develop his full academic potential and to develop skills for life through the wide range of cultural, spiritual and sporting opportunities on offer.

We believe that education is not only about acquiring knowledge and skills but about developing a spirit of intellectual enquiry in a caring, stimulating and enjoyable environment.

We aspire to enable our boys not only to make sense of the world but also to want to go out and improve it.

Above all, our aim is for those leaving Hampton to be open-minded, tolerant and full of conviction, to have a clear sense of right and wrong, and to aim for personal success while supporting those around them.

Welcome

I wish you a very warm welcome to Hampton, a happy and vibrant independent day school for boys aged 11 -18. For over 450 years, Hampton School has been helping boys to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.

We are delighted that our examination results and university entrance record consistently rank among the very best in the country.

Our boys excel because of the skills and dedication of our teaching staff and the challenging and stimulating all-round education we offer. There is an achievement culture rather than one of crude target-setting and Hampton is annually placed among the top schools in the country in both Government and other league tables.

Sixth Form

Sixth Form allows boys to approach their post-16 education in a supportive yet challenging environment. Teaching is organised in small groups, enabling pupils to build close partnerships with their Sixth Form subject tutors, ensuring their personal and academic development

Student Life

Sixth Formers are viewed as the School's leaders, at the apex of everything: sport, music, drama, debating, and community service, to name but a few.

They set the standards for the whole School in all they do and the opportunities this provides for leading younger pupils is a key difference between attending a school and going to a Sixth Form College.

Our boys are encouraged to develop the qualities of leadership, initiative and service to others. We believe this enables them to leave school with the confidence and skills to tackle the ever-increasing complexity of modern life.
