Welcome to the Hemsworth and District Clay Pigeon Club. We are located close to Doncaster on the A638 at Hampole, about two miles from the A1 at Junction 38, (A1 / A638 Red House interchange).

We offer Clay Pigeon Shooting sessions on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am to the Barnsley, Doncaster and Wakefield areas of South and West Yorkshire, Certificate holders are welcome to come along no booking is required. You can supply your own cartridges, but only Fibre Wad cartridges with a maximum 28g load and shot size No 7 are allowed.

We hold a Section 11(6) Dispensation Certificate that allows people aged 16 and over, who do not have Shotgun Certificates or guns to come and shoot with us under supervision, we have experienced club coaches who will give you guidance on how to shoot correctly and safely, please see Prices and Membership for full details.

Early in 1954, a small number of shooters formed an informal shooting group, their ultimate aim was to form an organised “Not for Profit" Clay Shooting Club, by late June 1954 they achieved their aim, and they became known officially as the Hemsworth and District Clay Pigeon Club.

Now as one of the oldest Clay Shooting Clubs in Yorkshire that is owned and operated by the members, successive management teams have respected the legacy left to us by those original members, we still operate on a “Not for Profit" basis, with dedicated volunteer members working hard to make our club as cost-effective as possible, and ensuring that we are much cheaper than commercial shooting grounds, all surplus revenue is used to expand and upgrade our equipment, enabling the significant growth and modernisation of our club over recent years.

We hold shooting sessions on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. And we politely ask that you are punctual, our shooting ground at Stubbs Hall Farm is accessed from the A638 Doncaster to Wakefield road, approximately two miles from the A1 at Junction 38, Red House Interchange. The Postcode is DN6 7EZ, however, this is a rural area code that covers several dwellings including Stubbs Hall Farm, so to help you directions to our venue are below.

From Doncaster and the A1, take the A638 towards Wakefield, approximately two miles after leaving Junction 38 of the A1 - A638, you will see a small derelict gatehouse on the left, followed by a stone wall leading to a long building with a Beige upper storey over Stonework, immediately after this building watch on the left for the Stubbs Hall Lakes sign, and turn into the farm entrance at the sign.
