I am Swiss and originally trained as a herbalist in Switzerland but from an early age I have also been learning about homeopathy. Following the relocation to England with my family, I studied to become a teacher in English and German.
After many years in education, including teaching at university I realised my dream and studied for four years at the ‘London College of Classical Homeopathy' to become a Classical Homeopath. As part of continuous professional development I also studied medical anthropology in order to understand patients' attitude, beliefs and behaviour regarding health and illness. /font>
I now run a busy practice, lead workshops or seminars and deliver courses on homeopathy and its use in First Aid and for the family.
My teaching experience in school, further education and higher education has taught me much about people from all walks of life and of different cultures and my experience of raising children is helping me to understand modern parents and allows me to help patients of all ages and backgrounds.
I am particularly interested in helping clients overcoming life traumas and coping with stress, which often manifest on the physical level.

Homeopathy is a gentle, holistic system of medicine, suitable for everyone, young and old. Safe yet profoundly effective, it focuses on you as an individual, concentrating on treating your specific physical and emotional symptoms to give you long lasting benefits.
Homeopathy works on the Hippocratic principle of 'like cures like' as opposed to curing with opposites. It was Samuel Hahnemann (1755 -1843), a German doctor, who, when disillusioned with medical practice of the day, developed the scientific and philosophical foundations of this gentler way of healing. He discovered that substances, which in large doses may cause sickness, when given in tiny doses, will cure a similar sickness. Hahnemann took the name Homöopathie (German), 'Homeopathy' from the Greek 'homoios' = similar and 'pathos' = suffering. For example in conventional medicine for insomnia a drug that induces artificial sleep is given whereas in homeopathy a remedy made from a substance that in large doses causes insomnia, such as Coffea, a specially prepared remedy (see below) made from coffee beans in a highly diluted form is often prescribed. Alternatively for nettle rash a remedy made from the stinging nettle, Urtica Urens (lat.), will often relieve the red, stinging and burning skin symptoms.
Although conventional medicine with its innovative technology and new drugs is performing ever greater miracles, the incidence of chronic diseases, such as cancer, arthritis, allergies, heart disease as well as mental and emotional complaints, is rising. With its different approach to health, homeopathy has much to offer to ameliorate many of these chronic conditions as well as diseases considered incurable by conventional medicine.
