Feng Po 'The God of the Wind' in Chinese mythology stands on green grass on top of a mountain. A wise old man with a long flowing white beard, dressed in a yellow cloak, and a blue and red cap. He holds a large sack and directs the wind, which comes from its mouth in any direction he pleases. This wind can be as gentle as a morning breeze or as devastating as a tornado, but Feng Po's intention cannot be seen, only felt. So it is with the Lee Family Art of Kung Fu called Feng Shou which means 'Hand of the Wind'. Feng Shou Kung Fu has been handed down for over 2000 years through the Lee family of Wei Hei Wei in central China.
The Northern Kung Fu schools, up in the mountains, used the feet and legs to a greater extent. In the South paddy fields meant you were up to your knees in mud and water or on board a boat on the sea all day with the legs required for balance as you rocked about. Both of these common southern occupations necessitated the use of more hand techniques.
The Lee style of Tai Chi and Feng Shou Kung Fu originated in central China and blended the best of Northern Kung Fu and Southern Kung Fu techniques into its own unique dynamic Kung Fu style. Essentially a soft internal Kung Fu art Lee style Feng Shou teaches the use of inner power (Nei Chi) usually shortened to Chi. The use of the word 'soft' often gives westerners the wrong impression, don't be misled, Feng Shou Kung Fu is just as lethal as any other of the so called 'hard' Kung Fu styles. Only instead of using muscular strength to strike with, The Lee style of Feng Shou Kung Fu uses the dynamic force of Chi. Soft refers to the way we move, the body is kept relaxed and in constant motion which produces a fast smooth-flowing action. Most of the hand and arm movements are circular, sometimes very small and sometimes very large. Big muscles are not required, if fact big muscles like those produced by weight lifting are restrictive.

Just to say thank you for your very prompt response to my order for the DVD. It arrived within 48hrs. It's a gift for my sister in law who has recently joined a Tai Chi class and is enjoying it as relief from a stressful job. I can't wait to see the results of using the DVD!! Wishing you all the best for a peaceful Christmas and new year.
