• Vocational accredited language qualifications

The IoL Educational Trust (IoLET) is an awarding organisation offering vocational qualifications in a wide selection of languages. Its qualifications are accredited by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). IoLET offers the following qualifications: Diploma in Translation (QCF, Level 7); Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (QCF, Level 6); Certificate in Bilingual Skills (QCF, Level 3); Certificate in Bilingual skills-Police (QCF, Level 3); Diploma in Police Interpreting (QCF, Level 6).

Language qualifications for translators and interpreters

The IoLET examinations are offered in a wide range of languages and have been developed to meet the needs of industry, commerce and the public services.

These are practical vocational qualifications and have been mapped against the relevant National Occupational Standards for approval by the regulatory body, Ofqual, and inclusion in the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
The logos of the regulatory authorities on Certificates/Diplomas indicate that the qualification is accredited only for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Examinations are monitored by an external Examinations Review Board which reports to the Board of Trustee Directors who has overall responsibility for the IoLET examinations.
