Happy to confirm the sale of our business through intelligent. The main contact for my sale was excellent and kept in regular contact. Very good advertising of the business and I was surprised by the number of buyers they introduced - very few time wasters. I believe they also helped raise the money for the buyer too. 5/5 thanks

Third sale through intelligent, 100% deals so far - nobody sells better in the SME market in my opinion. Huge access to buyers - top drawer.

Rip off
Do not sign anything at first meeting as you end up paying fees for nothing and contract seems to be binding with no cooling off off time. Contract also ties you in both from a business risk and a personnel risk????? Keep well clear

Sold my business
Good service with loads of information available. Ultimately sold so would not look elsewhere next time, although seemed a relatively large fee to pay on sale. That said, nothing to compare to, and as I say would use again tomorrow. Happy to recommend to anyone selling or buying.

Worked for them
I worked for this business and left due to personal reasons mid 2015. You won't find a more client focused business anywhere, very professional and the most motivating place I've worked. Selling a business has so many facets, if your not successful it's not because the agent hasn't tried - hearing this is v frustrating knowing the industry. If your looking for fairness and high quality then use this company, genuine market leaders.

Honest review
I was asked by this company to comment on them as I had a good experience, so I have. Whilst not being the cheapest option for me selling my business, they were certainly the right choice. Very professional throughout and offered sound advice constantly through the sale of my two businesses. Both sold in fair timescales and I got what was considered an above average sale price on both. Fees were fair given success, but nobody likes paying fees do they!? Any bad reviews on here I suggest are from sellers who haven't sold successfully, and the reality having sold many small companies is that often a business is just simply unsaleable.

A real rip-off avoid at all cost!!
They were invited to offer a free no obligation quote to sell the business. They then give you a convincing sales spiel and unwittingly get you to sign a contract which you are bound to pay the up-front fee without any get out clause - disgraceful. Please please please do not use this company. Like other reviews this negative comment will be falsely be followed with a 5 star comment - I'm absolutely speechless by the conduct of this company.

3 months sale completed!
I had my guesthouse on the market for over 12 months with a smaller local agent (franchise) and got nowhere. Intelligent found my buyer in weeks and we completed rapidly. I thought we would be stuck there for years, so thanks!

V impressed freehold sale

I'm surprised at the comment below, I have been selling my business with intelligent for 8 weeks and have had viewings and an offer so far (albeit not quite enough yet) however they have been fantastic so far. Marketing is excellent as is the sales brochure in comparison to the other jokers I saw. If your business doesn't sell, it's easy to point a finger however having done this all before sometimes there just isn't a buyer. Yes you pay a small fee whoever that's peanuts in comparison to doing it yourself. Anyway rant over fingers crossed

Superb service
After seeing their offer for a no obligation consultation I met with a consultant with the view for putting my business for sale. I saw a few other companies and intelligent were head and shoulders above the rest. The consultant was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable about his industry and gave me a fair valuation and unbiased advice. I will certainly be using IBT to handle my sale.

Can't comment on value as I wasn't paying their fee, the seller who I bought my business from did. My sale was handled excellently, including meetings at their offices with the seller to thrash out a deal. Very professional and would use to sell. Seem to advertise on bus4sale, Dalton's etc where I was looking prominently, maybe if you didn't sell it's your business not the marketing or lack of trying ! Ps- anyone buying a business I also used Lloyd's business loan who were superb.

I sold my business through intelligent, I had 2 offers come from the agent, and in the end sold it to my bro in law for a lower price than i was offered. the agent kindly reduced there fee, handled the sale process and all was done smoothly. very fair and relaxed, good experience. emigrating to oz so this had to be sorted quikly which it was, thanks very much

Derbyshire coffee house sold
Sold my coffee house with gallery in Derbyshire within 5 months start to finish, close to asking price on 3 offers, a very comprehensive service and at a fair fee. Would recommend to anyone who like myself wasted time with so called "national"brokers promising the earth. Offered a realistic valuation and marketed efficiently.

I have recently bought two businesses, one through intelligent and one through cristies, used intelligents finance team too and I must say they were excellent. Lending rates seem fairly high across the board but I was provided with lending 1% below high st banks. All in all a good business to have worked with. I would recommend. B Burgoyne

Good experience
I sold my business through intelligent having vein referred to them by a friend. Paid a higher commission than some others quoted but got the result and that's what mattered. Not sure why people are loaning about not selling having paid a small fee - maybe your business was the problem! Only small issue was with solicitors who dragged the sale out, but as my agents they were excellent.

BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE
I paid £300 (£250 + VAT) up front for them to sell my business, with the agreement of paying a further £3000 (£2500 + VAT) if the business sold (this was payable even if I found a buyer myself). They told me they had sold a number of businesses like mine. I had a six month contract with them (it turned out that I could not get out of the contract for six months and 28 days as I had to give them 28 days notice after the six month period – be careful to read their contract very carefully and ignore anything they may verbally tell you to the contrary). After nearly 4 months they had not found me a single potential buyer – I had not even received one phonecall from anyone who may be interested in buying my business. But how about this: in the 4 months before I signed up with them, through my own efforts, I had generated over a dozen enquiries. Judging by my experience, you are better off trying to sell your business yourself – you will know much more about your potential buyers and how to reach them (even Ebay generated more enquiries than these people). After nearly 4 months the only way I could get out of the agreement was by paying them £500 (this figure was reached after some very difficult negotiation – they initially wanted £1500 to terminate the contract) – if you add this to the initial fee, they ended up charging me £800 for absolutely no result. A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME.

Complete Rip off
Paid these people a lot of money several months ago to sell my retail business. Give you lots of (empty) promises and deliver nothing. Avoid these people altogether. Pure con merchants. Extremely angry with them. Don't be surprised if you see them follow this with their own "supportive" messages

better than most
i have used wilsons and a couple of other brokers but found these by far more competent. didnt over sell and marketed where i needed it, had plenty of viewings and interest and sold my catering business in leeds. the only frustration was the solicitors i used who were sluggish. happy overall 8/10!

Excellent service, most pleased
Sold two businesses with them, one took 3 weeks, other took 5 months. Both times were courteous and did as they said, very professional and active. Seem very focused online as they are everywhere. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for I guess. Anyone using them, try to work them down on commission as they were more flexible second time round! Also now buying through them, so far so good. Rgds

ripped me off
I paid them and was told my business would be advertised in local and national papers. its been nearly 6 mths and it hasnt been advertised in any papers once. I have left countless messages for them to call me back but they never do-its just one lie after another-please take my advise... never use them!!!
