Irene Jessop Funeral Service is the only privately run, family owned, independent funeral company in Thornaby. We opened the funeral home on Lanehouse Road after many months of preparation, in March 2010.
Irene Jessop has over 25 years of experience serving bereaved families in their time of need.
Funeral Director Irene Jessop has lived in Thornaby for the past 30 years, knowing the immediate and surrounding areas, the local people and the importance of the “community spirit".
Irene is both a fully qualified Funeral Director and Embalmer, therefore, families can be reassured of real care and professionalism at all times.
Out motto is “Always with honesty, dignity and respect". Sentiments very important to Irene's beliefs within the funeral profession. These sentiments are reflected in our personal service, approach and attitude.

In compassionate and Fake woman.
The unprofessional conduct of this company and woman is unbelievable. My father was looked after here and unfortunately his funeral was a total sham. The booklet with the service was wrongly worded, with the songs we chose not even being played at the crematorium. Disaster from start to finish. Please don’t put your loved ones with this fake unapologising woman. Disgraceful.

Very unprofessional avoid at all costs.
If you want to have your loved ones treat with respect then avoid this place like the plague. It took them 3 weeks to fit my dads funeral in. I was told by the manager, that it’s because they are short staffed, just about all the time. Found Irene Jessop to be very unprofessional unfortunately, getting several things wrong the day of the funeral, including the songs we chose at the crematorium . Broken hearted is an understatement, and not even an apology. Do not use. Not recommended.
