Wallpaper Removal or Hanging

We are quite prepared to strip and prepare walls as well as repapering, we have decorators for all occasions, whether it's that very expensive printed paper or fabric or whether its industrial vinyl that comes in 54 inch wide or maybe its woodchip, lining paper or embossed paper that will need painting afterwards, we have someone who can make it look special
Kitchen Units/Furniture

Want to brighten up that once beautiful Kitchen but don't want to spend a fortune, no problem! We can repaint/paint most kitchen unit surfaces even Oak and Melamine, we can also brighten up that piece of furniture that is too good to throw away but is starting to look a bit tired or maybe you have a new bespoke piece that you have had made specially, give John a call and we can discuss the possibilities

Staining and Specialist Finishing

we do Ragging, Colour Washing, Dragging and Antiquing, these can be done on most scales i.e. a door or a room, a house or? You can see some of the work we have done in this area by looking at the photos in our profile, this particular one is pine darkened with a wood dye then dragged, so if you have any areas you would like decorated this way, call John and we will be happy to quote and advise

Insurance Work

Need a quote to repair and paint your water damaged ceiling or flood damaged house. Need a quote for that smoked damaged area or to repaper that room where that pipe burst, Well give John a call at J W Farmer and Sons Ltd and we will be happy to help.
Artexing and Coving

I have guys who work for me that will undertake either of the above in small areas (2 or 3 rooms at a time) or I know some very good tradesmen who will take on the above in much larger areas (whole houses, office blocks etc.) both are as good as one another but the latter guys are faster.

Tiling or Re Grouting

As above I have men who can do this on a small scale but I also know some tradesmen who are very good with either stone or ceramics

Who We Are

At J W Farmer and Sons Ltd decorating contractors we provide all our customers, whether domestic or commercial, with a high quality and professional service. All of our decorators work to a very high standard and all have a wealth of experience. We always use the best materials namely, Farrow and Ball, Little Greene Paint Co. and Dulux but we are always happy to oblige if you have a particular preference.

We offer free estimates and consultations for all your internal and external decorating no matter how big or small the job may be and we are fully insured. We offer a full range of decorating which includes Painting, Wallpapering (domestic or industrial), some Paint Effects, small Artexing works, Airless Spraying Etc.

Over the past Eighteen and a half years we have grown from just a small one man company to one which now employs six full-time painters including myself, although there are many others that I call upon as and when required. The six painters who work for me full-time have all been with me for some time, three years being the least and sixteen years the most. All are very experienced and very trustworthy tradesmen.

At the moment our work consists of mainly recommendations on the domestic side (although we do advertise in our local directory) and varying amounts of work for Interior Designers, on the commercial side we do work mostly for small building firms, namely; Hackwood Building Services (for whom we do redecorating on railway stations throughout the South West Trains region), Wells Builders Ltd, Digey Ltd, Morningwood Ltd, M A I Construction Ltd (Reading) and K G Hutt Developments Ltd

Our main core of decorators, six in all, have all been with us for 3+ years and two of them for over 15 years. Each one of them has their own specialities, we also have a very good pool of decorators that I call on when things get very busy.
