Juice Factory is a Marketing and Design Company based in Wiltshire, England. Marketing during a changing economy

Developing your business when times are hard can be very difficult. When things aren't going too well that you need to take a step back and look at your Marketing Strategy. Your business needs to compete with your competitors at a much higher level, your brand needs to stand out, and your product or service needs to offer more than its counterparts and your pricing needs to be competitive. Increasing company awareness starts with branding. Not just the company name, but the image the brand creates for the public and ultimately your client base, the use of colour and graphics to differentiate you from your competitors and having a unique selling proposition (USP). Once this is all sorted the next task is how to market the company. The first thing to do is finding as many free ways to get your product/service known as you can. Business Listings and Directories, writing articles and blogs, and make sure your website is registered with all of the major search engines. When you think that you need to spend some money, think about how effective the marketing channel will be for you as there are numerous options. With Direct Mail for example, you are better off sending a series of 4 related postcards to 100 people rather than just 1 card to 400. This will start to build recognition and when the target needs your product then there is more of a chance that they'll remember you.When it comes to pricing be realistic. The marketplace is becoming more and more competitive and what you charge needs to reflect this. Trying to get more business or money out of your existing clients is all well and good, but they will always be looking for added value. Just to raise prices and fees doesn't work. Offer discounts, something for free and then there is trading services.
