After selling a property 'managed' by this company on behalf of my deceased mother's estate, I was informed that my mother's estate was due a refund of over £500 (having paid management fees 6 months in advance). This amount included a deduction of £100 for a 'handover charge'! After over 4 weeks waiting for this refund, I contacted the company and was promised that the amount would be transferred directly into my bank account. Another 10 days passed without receiving any money, so I had to phone them again. This time I was told that they were 'just about' to put the transfer through'. I asked them why it had taken another 10 days to get round to making the promised payment, I was told it was 'company policy'. I was also informed that the payment would be made less a further adjustment to cover 'additional costs acrrued in the development' despite the fact that the statement originally produced was supposed to be a final statement of accounts. From my experience of dealing with this company, I would have to say that they are dishonest, deceiptful and arrogant, believing they can charge what they like as they cannot be held accountable by any independent authority. I would advise anyone having to deal with this company, particularly if they are acting on behalf of a tenant or owner of a property managed by this company, to check all financial statements produced by this company carefully and question every entry!
