About

Radio Nurse Call Equipment

Live-Link Communications Ltd. are designers, manufacturers and installers of Wireless Radio Nurse Call Systems suitable for Nursing Homes, Residential Homes and Hospitals.

Their first system was designed back in 1988 and was superseded in 2002 with the SEEK-AID Radio Nurse Call system which comes with a whole new array of features and technical advances which includes the option of integrating it with the Dect Phone/Paging system.

We are a British based company with Nurse Call System installations in Ireland, Jersey, Shetland and mainland Britain.

How does the system work?

The SEEK-AID Radio Nurse Call System comprises of Panels (receivers) and Call Units (transmitters). The panels come with their own internal aerials, eliminating the need for wiring of an external aerial. This also makes it easier for the movement of Display Panels if needed.

When a SEEK-AID transmitter is activated, a call signal is carried by radio to the panels. Both the unit number and the cause of the alarm, i.e. Standard, Assistance or Emergency are displayed on the panel. At the same time, the sounder is triggered, emitting one of three distinct tones to indicate the urgency of the call. This can be regulated so as not to disturb residents, particularly at night, as the volume can be set depending on the time and location, and increases automatically to draw the attention of the staff until the call is answered.

Calls can only be cancelled by attending the room from which it originated. This is a requirement of the various Health Authorities and Social Service Departments. All calls made will be held within the systems memory until cancelled, with the most urgent of these taking priority

The Live-Link Movement Sensor

The Live-Link Movement Sensor to help aid fall prevention is one of the most progressive, up to date, portable bed sensors on the market to aid fall prevention. This is the only unit of its kind with a dual purpose which can be used to monitor residents leaving their beds or rooms and can also be connected to a chair sensor pad. Its unique features including the foot switch mechanism are the subject of pending patent applications.

Pressure mats have a short life span and need repairing regularly or if severely damaged, replaced altogether. Our Movement Sensor is robustly constructed and comes with a 3 year warranty.

The Movement Sensor can be linked in to the majority of nurse call systems. Nurses or carers will be alerted if a resident sits up in bed, gets out of their chair or leaves the room. This one piece of equipment gives staff the flexibility of one unit covering several scenarios.

This unit is of great benefit for any residents who may be at a greater risk of falling or injuring themselves e.g. residents with poor mobility, suffering from dementia or confusion, recovering following an operation or suffering from the side-effects of prescribed drugs.

Live-link communications ltd are designers, manufacturers and installers of wireless radio nurse call equipment suitable for nursing homes, residential homes and hospitals. Our newest product, the Live-Link Movement Sensor, is one of the most progressive, up to date, portable bed sensors on the market to aid fall prevention.
