For nearly 30 years, Macmole have been providing Impact Moling, (Trenchless Technology) Chain Trenching and Pipe Ramming expertise in South East England.
Our customers range from homeowners requiring new or replacement water pipes where the existing supply is leaking or has poor flow, through to builders, civil engineers and local authorities requiring larger installations of pipes, services and ducts.
Based in mid Kent, our specialist Impact Moling, Chain Trenching and Pipe Ramming contractor equipment is easily transportable and we are ideally located to work throughout Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Essex and London.
Although we are well known as impact moling water supply specialists and do a great deal of domestic water supply pipe replacement, throughout SE England, (many older iron and lead water supply pipes are now in desperate need of replacement), we also install electric cables, gas pipes, drain and sewer pipes and other underground ductwork. Our ability to install services with no surface disruption other than at entry and exit pits is a major advantage over open cut excavation methods, eliminating the time and cost of surface reinstatement and inconvenience to the general public and traffic.
Impact Moling is a pipe or duct installation / replacement technique in which a pneumatic piercing tool, the Mole, is used to create a bore hole between two particular points. Typically a pit is dug at the start and finish points and the mole progresses horizontally between these points without surface disruption. The ground is compacted and displaced by the mole rather than excavated and removed .
This technique, also known as trenchless technology, is often favoured to install services such as:- Water pipes, Electric cables, Telephone ducting, Gas pipes, Drain and Sewer pipes and Ducts up to 150mm. Its non surface disruptive nature makes it very suited to go under Roads, Drives, Lawns, Buildings and Rough Terrain.
Chain trenching utilises a continuous looped chain, similar to a large chainsaw to cut a channel (trench) to a predetermined depth and width into the ground. The soil removed is deposited adjacent to the trench ready for replacing after the pipe is laid.
Where surface disruption is not an issue or the ground is unsuited to impact moling Chain Trenching offers a viable alternative, especially across grass or harversted fields.
A chain trencher with operator, suitable for Private and Commercial Work is typically used for laying services such as:-
Water pipes, Electric cables, Telephone, Gas, Ducts, Drainage Runs and Irrigation Pipes, etc.
Impact Moling, chaintrenching & water supply specialists, installing services & ducts etc.
