About

Mamore Lodge Hotel

700ft above sea level on the slopes of Am Bodach (The Old Man), and with spectacular views over Loch Leven and the surrounding Highland scenery, stands Mamore Lodge Hotel.

Mamore Lodge was built at the turn of the century for Captain Frank Bibby. The Bibbys' were one of Liverpools great shipping families, and owned Bibbys' Shipping Line.

The wild beauty of Mamore has not changed since then, deer still roam the estate, and the spectacular landscape provides unforgetable views and walks to this day.

Soak up the atmosphere of this unique Highland retreat.

Mamore Lodge Hotel has retained much of its original character. Built to withstand the extremes of Highland winters, it stands as firm as the solid rock on which it is built.

Inside the Hotel has 12 comfortably appointed rooms, nearly all with en-suite facilities, magnificent views, and with original Scottish pinewood paneling.

A further 5 twin rooms with en-suite facilities are provided in a nearby annex.

The restaurant and dining room, as well as the lounge have fine views over the Loch and village to the mountains north of Glencoe.

The bar is an ideal place to rest weary legs at the end of a busy day, with bar meals served

The Mamore Forest covers over 45,000 acres in area and extends in height from lochside sea level to eight magnificent peaks all over 3,000ft.

Miles of old stalking tracks and pony paths provide access to all parts of the area, giving you the choice of easier low-level walks, or of breathtaking, and more strenuous high-ridge walks, all from the lodge itself.

Mamore is also a welcome sight for many long distance walkers of the West Highland Way, which runs within a few hundred yards of the Lodge, and before the last leg of the walk which ends in Fort William.
