McCartneys LLP is an independent firm of Auctioneers, Estate Agents, Chartered Surveyors and Valuers in the Marches, Mid Wales and West Midlands, with thirteen Property Offices and five Livestock Markets covering five counties.

The original Partnership, established in 1874, has developed into a strong independent professional firm serving its' clients throughout the West Midlands and Welsh Borders, with pride and expertise. McCartneys is one of the oldest and largest multi-disciplined private practices in the United Kingdom.

We have a strong residential and commercial department with offices throughout the region, a rural professional divisionwith a longstanding heritage in supporting the needs of the countryside economy, livestock markets selling high quality locally produced livestock, survey departments offering advice on all planning and building related matters, a fine art and antiquessection offering quality goods and a dispute resolution department specifically set up to meet modern day requirements.

Primestock Sales
McCartneys conduct weekly sales of Primestock at Brecon, Kington, Knighton, Ludlow and Worcester. Prime Sheep are sold at each of these five centres with prime cattle being sold at Ludlow and Worcester.

McCartneys has a long standing heritage in supporting the needs of the countryside economy and at the heart of the business are the 5 livestock markets - Brecon, Kington, Knighton, Ludlow, and Worcester.
All sites have thriving weekly markets drawing livestock from a wide area and attracting buyers from across the UK.
There are separate sales for primestock and store stock - About our Markets will give you each individual market's details where you can find out more about the various sales at that site.
The livestock markets also hold various pedigree sales throughout the year.

Market Days
Every Tuesday - Finished Sheep and Cull Ewes

Last Friday of every month - Store Cattle

Horse Sales
There are monthly sales of Horses, Ponies and Tack, and an annual horse fair on the first Saturday in November for the sale of Section A foals and mares. There is also the renowned Llanafan and Cwmowen Sale in October.

Pedigree Sales
Brecon Market is used by several breed Societies for sales, including Limousin Cattle, Charollais Sheep, the Beltex Sheep Society and the Texel Society.

Evening Sales
Every 2 weeks on a Thursday night there are special sales of breeding rams, ewes, and store and ewe lambs.

Machinery Sales
Held at Brecon Market twice yearly - once in the spring and once in the autumn.
