Avoid Mounts Bay, Exeter, at all costs
I purchased a pair of sandals (Hush Puppies) from this shop, after returning home I wore them around the house to ease them in, the next day I did the same when suddenly the sole gave way and the stitching came completely away from the sole, I returned to the shop a couple of days later to explain and to my amazement the company refused to make a refund, I was referred to the manager who blatantly refused a refund, I was offered a credit note which I declined and asked a full refund, he stated that this is not company policy and that the item would have to be returned to head office for consideration, I persisted with my argument that the goods were not fit for purpose and clearly you could see that the item was faulty and eventually the manager gave me a refund, In the circumstances I would warn anybody to think about a purchase from this retailer as I am of the opinion that the items sold are not genuine manufacture stock or that they are seconds and you will undoubtedly find the same answer, should the goods not live up to their intended use,

Be Warned
This shops return policy is archaic! If you buy something and decide to return it for whatever reason you can exchange it or get a credit note, reasonable but not great. However, if you buy a faulty item and want to get a refund then get ready for a whole load of hassle. Only the manager can issue refunds but he is NEVER around. Before he will refund you the item will have to be returned to the supplier for inspection. I have currently been waiting for two weeks to be refunded on a faulty item, after two promises that I would be refunded at different stages and numerous conversations to staff who seem embarrassed to work there. I've now been told that the manager is away and may be back on Tuesday! This is £90 that I can't really afford to not have right now. So be warned before you buy!
