Don't ever use this this company
This company's customer services is non existent after they've taken your money, avoid at all cost. We were supplied with a vehicle we could not use through not fault of our own, I have rung, sent emails, recorded delivery letters but they do not communicate back at all. We needed this vehicle for my sisters funeral, it has been very distressing made far worse by this appalling company. If you need a rental company use Chiefrentals they are excellent. I have had to learn the hard way and lost a lot of money.

HORRIFIC!!!
I hired a Van from Hertz to do a trip from Glasgow to Luton, it was hired via a company called Nationwide Hire 4 U Ltd, www.nationwidehireuk.co.uk. I have to say, the whole process was horrific. The driver delivering the van to me in Glasgow warned me about the fuel situation and I MUST take it back full. The statement in fact was quite shocking, “make sure you fill this up with fuel before you give it back, or they will F***ing F*** you over, they are a bunch of C***s, they will charge you £4.50 per litre, and anyway they will probably F*** you over anyway, f***ers”. So I was well on guard with it, not a conversation I can easily forget. I arrived home after my staff had gone home that evening, so the next morning before the van was collected I had my staff witness the fuel gage at 100% and the condition of the vehicle. I also confirmed with the collecting driver that the fuel was full, and inspected the vehicle, all was fine on the hand over. Surprise surprise, it looks like the driver in Glasgow was correct as I have been charged £17.65 for fuel, taken from by bank account. Never again will I hire anything from either of these to companies, and I will do my best to give them as much bad press as possible.

APPAULING COMPANY, PLEASE AVOID!
UPDATE 18/12/2017: This company promised us a full refund of charges taken incorrectly, and for inconvenience that of the original hire price, guess what still nothing received! - Ongoing dispute including legal action being undertaken. This company is absolutely appauling, unacceptable service supplied and in breach of common UK laws and regulations (DATA PROTECTION/FRAUD), please read on... I needed to hire a van for a house move, I placed the booking via phone and vehicle availability confirmed and time given for the date required, no problem right??? Incorrect, the company then after having taken payment for the vehicle booking, and confirming availability stated that availability was no longer, and that a refund of my payment would take 3-5 working days to clear back to my bank account! Further more, me and my partner did not have available funds to re-hire anywhere and was reliant upon our move date. After some negotiation a vehicle was supplied but on the next day, ok we thought like we have a choice! When the vehicle arrived it was delivered to the wrong address given, luckily we were able to get back there. We had booked and paid for a MWB (medium wheel based) transit type panel van in order to move our belongings in one go, makes sense yeh? We received, a standard wheel base transit connect (i.e. postman pat/caddy van) what a joke! We had no choice to use this vehicle, and was still charged the same amount as for the larger van??? The vehicle was supposed to be collected from us, at 2PM in the afternoon, yesterday. It is now 01:00 the following morning, and guess what no one has been to collect it or contacted us as to delays. I take no liability for the vehicle at this point, as assuming am no longer insured to move the vehicle and thus any liability regards parking regulations, etc within a town area would be subject to the company. Also I would clearly like to point out a massive fraud/data protection breach by this company. During email communications to myself upon booking, for some unknown reason to me I received an email from them but with reference to another customer's booking, even worse within this email was a scanned image copy of another customer's driving licence and other personal data!!! Yes we plan to take further action against this company, including informing the police of the above fraud matters. I would never hire from this incompetent business again, and would strongly urge others to avoid at all costs! !!! PLEASE BE WARNED !!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
The customer service is dreadful, you get massively overcharged and they spend weeks getting your money back. The van I received had loads of warning lights on.... would never ever use this company again!

Easy Reliable Service
We own a business and regularly use Nationwide Hire UK. They are by far the best vehicle rental companies. We have tested many different ones and Nationwide actually have the lower fees for damage and fuel charges. We have been charged in the past for damaging the vehicle but in that case it was our falt. They are ethical and we will keep using them for our businesses vehicle hire needs.

AVOID this company !
COMPLETELY AVOID Nationwide Hire UK. I hired a VW Transporter van in January for a straightforward one-way journey. The van had been delivered to me with half a tank of fuel, which I queried straight away (and was told that was fine and quite normal). I returned it with the exact same amount of fuel in it. After the hire over £100 was taken from my credit card account as a charge for a full tank. It took a long time, dealing with unresponsive staff, to get this refunded. Meantime, the company decided to charge me £300 for damage, when absolutely no damage had occurred. This was taken from my account without any explanation and has still not been refunded. What I thought would be a simple hire has been a very poor experience. In fact it's enough to put me off hiring anything for a while! I won't go near this firm again and if you have any sense you'll steer clear of them too.
