Why have PAT Testing done?

It is highly important to have PAT Testing carried out, to help ensure the electrical equipment is properly maintained, free from faults and is safe to use. PAT Testing helps reduce the risk of workplace fires and electric shock, both could be fatal.

Also, statutory UK legislation is law, therefore it must be complied with, otherwise it could lead to hefty fines, imprisonment or both. Three of the statutory UK legislations relevant to electrical maintenance are:

The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998

Our Service.

We pride ourselves on our service, providing all of our clients, big or small, with our 'Comprehensive PAT Testing Service'.

This includes:
An optional out of normal working hours testing service to suit your business' needs, and to minimise disruption - This service must be requested beforehand and not on day of testing, there is no extra charge for this service.

On completion of the work we'll issue you with a detailed report and certificate of conformity, this will include a full list of the electrical equipment tested on your premises, and information for each piece of electrical equipment. This information will include: Register ID number, Location, Description, Test Results and Date of Test

On the arranged day and time of testing, our engineer will liaise with your business' appointed person, duty holder, caretaker or business owner.

Our engineer will be experienced, professional, fully qualified, hold a City & Guilds 2377 qualification and have passed an enhanced DBS Check (formally known as a CRB Check).

Our engineer will carry out the following tests and remedial work:

A formal visual inspection of equipment - where appropriate.

A full inspection and test of equipment - where appropriate.

Plug replacement - if a plug is damaged or non compliant.

Fuse replacement and re-termination of conductors - where appropriate.

Application of new label - indicating pass/fail, test date and test engineer's name.

Microwave leakage testing of microwave ovens at no extra cost.
