This is my favourite little Asian food spot. It's really small and busy, but wicked. The soups are amazing. Going here loads right now. Really hits the spot.

Bean sprout overload

I was looking forward to trying Pho since it had been many years since I travelled in Vietnam and had the real stuff. My Vietnamese friend reccomended we meet there for dinner. It is a small bustling restaurant with plenty of after work diners. To start with we shared a Vietnamese crepe which was filled with prawns, chicken and beanspouts. This was huge and would have been enough for one person's dinner. The crepe was deep fried so rather greasy and it was quite hard to eat. Next we both had the lemongrass beef vermicelli noodles. This came in massive bowls with the noodles at the bottom and yet more beansprouts on the top. You had to stir in the sauce they give you - mine was meant to be spicy but wasn't really. Beef was very dry and salty. Took ages to finish - it seemed like there was just countless of beansprouts to get through. I'm not an expert on Vietnamese food but if this is the real thing - give me Wagamamas anyday. Also by the time we left at about 8pm it was really busy and the noise levels were intolerable. Not sure i'd come back.

Great place but not so much of vietnamese taste

This place has a good location, nice decoration and friendly staff. But the foods haven't got so much of vietnamese taste. Summer rolls weren't fresh and brought straight out from the fridge. As it was left too long in the fridge, the wrap rice paper became hard and chewy. "Pho" was served in a big bowl - which is great. But could do more with the contents in it, you can hardly find anything in there apart from a few noddles and slices of beef. And please use fresh rice noodles. Don't use the pre-packed that you can buy in a super market with 99p.

I heart Pho!

Pho is a fun and funky new-age Vietnamese caff with great, inexpensive food. The menu is pretty simple - they do a few variations of pho, the classic noodle soup, plus bun (which is a bowl of noodles with veggies, sauce, and your choice of tofu, prawns, beef or chicken), and some salads and Vietnamese baguettes. The starters are yummy too, especially the rice paper rolls. Apparently there is curry in the evening as well but I've not tried it as I'm always at Pho for lunch! I like the #17 (bun with prawns and spicy sauce) the best. The flavours are very simple and fresh, and the staff are very friendly and happy to explain how the food all works together.Be sure to try the iced coffee with your bowl of pho, or a flowering green tea! It can be very busy at lunchtime so be sure to come early. I think they do takeaway too, but be prepared to queue!

This is a great place for a quick meal - perfect for work lunches. Faithful to Vietnamese cuisine, with all the benefits of not having to sit on a bucket by the side of a road

i found this to be a good restaurant on the whole. Not living or spending much time in central london though, i found that the cost compared to the amount of food you get quite high, compared to places near me.

Great culinary adventure! The food is good, exotic and even healthy! Can't give it five stars though, because they serve something called "weasel regurgitated coffee"....don't ask.
