Welcome to Portsmouth Sound and Light

The staff here at Portsmouth Sound & Light currently comprises of four very talented individuals: an electronics engineer, a mobile & club DJ, a computer programmer, and a sound technician & musician. Together they make up one of the most experienced and competent sound & lighting retail teams in the industry! The company was originally known as K.M (an abbreviation of Kingsley & Martin), and the retail/installation division was aquired by its present owner in 1996. The present owner purchased KM Installations in June of this year, leaving the previous owner to continue running the very successful local entertainments agency known as KM Entertainments . The shop was run for just under a year under its new management at the original address in Chichester Road. March 1997 saw the first move and the renaming of the company to Portsmouth Sound & Light. It was at this time that the quirky "rapper" logo was found to help launch the new company, along with the distinctive red and yellow font for our abbreviated PSL name. The second move into a much larger premises took place three years later, where the shop was expanded over two floors.

Installations

As well being a successful highstreet and online retailer, we also have a department dedicated to carrying out professional audio-visual installation work for venues in and around the Portsmouth area. Whatever the venue, we are confident that we will be able to provide a solution to anyone who requires a quality audio-visual system for their premises. Our past clients include: Tempo Dance Studio, HKC Vodka Bar, Pennington Sports & Social Club, and Upland Park Hotel, to name but a few.

Hire

We have a fairly substantial hire department, with various equipment available to rent at very reasonable rates. Whether its just a simple flashing "traffic light" effect for a kids party, or a fully-fledged disco/karaoke set-up, we should be able to cater for most eventualities.

We employ experienced friendly, and knowlegeable staff who are always willing to help by offering honest and unbiased advice. We are large enough to cope but still small enough to care! We have a service engineer on-site to carry out any technical work required, including free repairs on equipment under warranty. We are an authorised service centre for many of the brands we sell.
