The CEREC machine allows a crown to be made and placed all in one visit; saving the patient as well as the dentist time. The dentist will do the preparation, design the crown on a computer, send the design to the milling machine and fit it as soon as it's done. On average it will take around 15 minutes to mill.

No numbing up or drilling

Air abrasion is a drill-free technique that can be used to do small fillings.
Compared with the traditional drilling method, the advantages of air abrasion are many and include the following:

doesn't generate heat, sound, pressure, or vibration.
reduces the need for anaesthetic, particularly if the cavity is shallow.
leaves much more of the healthy tooth tissue behind.
leaves the working area relatively dry, which is an advantage during the placement of composite fillings.
