prezzo not recommended
had the most horrible night ever.surprise meal and they made us stand at the door for over 10 minutes and then the birthday boy saw us. we had to climb over chairs to sit down,the waitress was rude and arrogant towards us, the burger was raw and the other was overcooked and i ended up with food poisoning.

strange
having read the previous 2 reviews i wonder if this is the same place i've been too on about 7 occasions? ! this place is one of my girlfriends favourites and i'm more than happy to go there if she suggests it - it's well set out if you want a 'romantic meal' and it's also a good place to go with a group of friends - i wouldn't say the service is the best i've had but i don't actually have any complaints either - the food we've had has always been good - not the best italian food in the world but worth the money and they have a good selection of drinks and starters to choose from

Shockingly rubbish
I have eaten in Prezzo on a number of occasions (it must be more than ten). It is right in the heart of Exeter, near the Guildhall. The setting is stunning and the tables are laid beautifully. On first impressions it is outstanding. However, the food is terrible and the staff are appalling.I have honestly NEVER had a meal here that has been perfect. They either bring the food late, or it is cold, or it is the wrong meal, or there is an ingredient missing. On the last occasion I ordered chicken that was so greasy I had to dab it in my napkin to soak up some of the oil - and this was not pleasant oily dressing, it was just greasy oil. I could not eat it and was in a large group of people so by the time I had actually managed to get a waiter to come over so that I could complain everyone else had finished their food. He asked if I wanted something else but I pointed out it was a little late due to the fact everyone else had finished. He said in a VERY rude way, 'well that's up to you' and just walked off.I wrote to their head office and complained that I had spent £100 that on everyone's meals and yet only eaten a dessert myself and some bread. I had a letter of apology but no compensation. The company is a joke. I have vowed never ever to set foot in the place again.Even one star is too many for this badly run joke of a restaurant. AVOID IT!

Nice food, but watch your pocket
I have had good food at Prezzo's, but have heard some disturbing stories about attempted overcharging at Exeter Prezzo (see www.itsmymarket.com/blogs/imm/exeter-prezzo/). Whilst this seems to be more the fault of the individual head waiter, it certainly lowers my opinion of them. I should point out that a letter of apology was sent out to the person involved along with a £50 voucher.
