About

About us

Heidi and Abigail are always pleased to lead the den building and exploring while Melanie really is the Queen of craft. Phil is the practical outdoors type and is so into nature, conservation and spotting local wildlife. Pippin and Fudge always love having someone to play with (although you may get a few unexpected licks!).

The goats also love to say hello and are quite acrobatic in their climbing skills! The kids are growing fast and are around 3/4 the size of Mum. Names so far include Oddie (has different sized ears), Star, Trixie, Tiggy, Bluebell, Bramble and Holly.

If you like cats you'll love Misty & Daisy our rehomed moggies. They were originally house cats but have retrained themselves to take on pest control duties (they wear bells during the bird breeding season so that they can't catch fledglings). P.S. You may also notice that wellies are de rigueur at Puddleduck Valley.

Have some tried and tested real family holiday

At Puddleduck Valley we've blended family holiday accommodation, a petting farm and a forest school. With lots of hands on activities including feeding the animals every morning, collecting the hen's eggs, nature treasure hunts, clay face making camp fires complete with marshmallow toasting these really are holidays that childhood memories are made of.

Testimonials

We stayed in May half term in a yurt, it was really well equipped and the woodburner really made it exceptionally cosy, our little boy loves sleeping in a tent, so a yurt was a good middle ground for us parents to make it a lot more luxurious. The farm was lovely and the hosts were fab, especially farmer Phil and Abi who had enormous amounts of enthusiasm and patience with our son, who already thought he was a farmer. The morning hour of meet the farmer was a massive success and he loved feeding and looking after the animals, the goats are especially cute!! The setting is idyllic and Josh loved the swings across the stream, its definitely back to nature with a huge amount of fun!!! Thanks also for the lovely scones, delicious.

We stayed last week during half-term in the appleloft accommodation for 7 nights. Phil and Melanie were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. Their daughters are also so very friendly and my boys had a wonderful time playing with them. The accommodation was lovely and cosy... It was a nice surprise having eggs, milk, bread, butter and freshly homemade scones waiting for us. The scones are the absolute best!!! (i want the recipe!!) My boys enjoyed joining the morning routine with phil of feeding and taking care of the animals... And loved being able to check the chickens for fresh eggs throughout the day. Phil and Melanie also took a group of us down to make 'tree clay faces' one afternoon... sooooo much fun and without a doubt I think the adults enjoyed it just as much or more than the children. We loved it and will definitely be booking again.
