The Best Pub in the Forest

Well I think it is anyway! If you walk, cycle, (road or mountain), dog walk, ride a motorbike, enjoy camping or just like a drive out into the forest to have a good beer or lovely meal then this is the pub for you!!We have been going to this pub for the last 4 years and everytime we go there we wish we lived closer so we could go more often.The beer selection is fantastic, the wines are great, the meals we have had here have ALL been lovely and worth every penny.Our dog LOVES coming here as they always make a fuss of her although I think she enjoys the walks around the pub more!Our daughter likes going to the pub because it is so friendly and the kids can go outside to play in the forest.The pub inside is tables and chairs, set out for dining, however, you do find little quiet areas if this is what you prefer. There is always a lovely fire burning on cold days and this I must say is our dogs favourite spot to fall asleep in front of after a long hard walk!Outside there are tables and chairs and there is a DOG FREE zone which is fenced off if you are not a lover of the 4 legged friend.There are water bowls for dogs and troughs for horses all over so EVERYONE is welcome here.In the height of the summer it does get busy as the camper next door descend on the pub for the evening meals however it has never been too busy for us to be turned away.Sunday afternoons in the summer are also quite busy as the local bikers (motorbikes) meet here for a drink.I would (and have) suggested this pub to all my friends to visit, winter or summer. If you haven't tried it yet, then you must because I would be surprised if you didnt enjoy it. It has something for everyone.There are two pubs either side of this one, Alice Lisle and High Corner, all three are good pubs but this is my favourite.They do have quizzes and live music in the pub as well as beer festivals.
