About Sarah

Sarah is 22 years old and has recently moved to Hayling Island. She has been teaching piano for over 6 years and is now running Sarah's Music School from her home on Hayling Island.

Sarah started learning piano at the age of 4. She worked her way through the grades, achieving grade 1 associated board at the age of 7. She passed grade 8 trinityguildhall with merit in 2006 just after which she started to teach.
Sarah started singing in 2002 and was accepted into Farnham Youth Choir in 2003. As part of the choir, she sung at the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall at Christmases under the direction of John Rutter, as well as taking part in several competitions in which they won several prizes. Some of these included 2004 52nd European Youth Choral Festival, Neerpelt, Belgium - 1st prize cum laude, 2005 BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year - Finalist, 2005 Montreux Choral Festival (Switzerland) - 1st prize (Audience) and 2006 4th World Choir Games, Xiamen, China - 2 silver medals and 2 gold diplomas. She was also among a few of the choir to be selected to sing at St George's Chapel, Windsor. She left Farnham Youth Choir in 2006 to take her GCSEs including music in which she achieved an A*, and in her last year at school she was selected to be Music Prefect to the Junior School. During this time, she helped to run all the extra curricular music clubs including choir, orchestra, band, during which she also participated in Senior Choir, Chamber Choir, Senior Orchestra and Senior Jazz Band. She also organised the first ever annual Junior Music Competition which still runs to this day with the Randall Cup for first prize. At the end of the year she also helped to organise the Summer Concert and direct the Junior School's production of Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. After this she went on to sixth form college to take Music AS & A Level, where she took part in Choir, Orchestra, Big Band and the esteemed Farnborough Sixth Form Chamber Choir.

Sarah has always had a passion for music and is a patient, reliable and friendly teacher. She welcomes students of all ages and all abilities.
