Sash Smart specialises in replacing broken sash window cords and sash spiral balancers. Sash cords are a vital part of a sash window. Over time these can wear and snap, leaving the window hard to open and in some cases dangerous to operate. In order for the window to function properly, new cords will need to be fitted.

Complete sash window replacement

Sash Smart offer a full window replacement.When your original box frames are beyond repair we offer a full replacement service. New windows are made in our Croydon workshop.

A complete replacement includes:Handmade new double glazed sashes, compliant double glazed units, fully draught proofed, new lead weights/or spiral balancers to counter balance the new sashes, new sash fastener, security locks, sash lifts and sash pulls, new architrave and nosing. All new woodwork primed white with a 5 year guarantee and a FENSA certificate will be issued.

Our sashes are standardly made from softwood, an assorted Redwood. We often make sashes from Sapele which is a hardwood. Additionally we can use Accoya. With the establishment of FSC certificate the sustainable credentials of timbers we use can be guaranteed.

Replacement Sashes Into Existing Box Frames

Sash Smart specialise in replacement sashes into existing box frames. We will happily make a like for like replacement. Our sashes single or double glazed, are hand-made in our Croydon workshop. Our sashes are made of hardwood as standard. Additionally we can use Accoya.

You may require a new single glazed sash or a replacement bottom or top sash, or a pair of new double glazed sashes. In most cases we can even fit these into your existing box frames. Whether you're having your sashes refurbished or draught proofed you'll be living in comfort on a hot summers day and reducing your energy bills when heating your property in the cold winter months

Secondary Glazing

Sash Smart offer secondary glazing. Secondary glazing is often used where new windows can't be fitted due to conservation rules or when it's not practical to offer a full replacement. Secondary is a good noise reducing product for windows on busy main roads. There are many designs from a horizontal sliding, vertical sliding sash design with a tilt out option making it easy to open and clean the primary window.

Secondary glazing reduces unwanted noise and pollution. This would work exceptionally well if you live on a busy road.
