Houndwood Church was built in the mid 1830s to accommodate the Grantshouse and Reston communities. After 175 years of service the B-Listed building was converted into Houndwood Crematorium, with the conservation and renovation work being completed by local tradespeople. Today the crematorium is complemented by its own landscaped Gardens of Remembrance, lined with greenery.
