About

How can counselling help me?

People come to counselling for many different reasons. Some people may be looking for help with issues, such as, anxiety and/or depression, stress, low self-esteem, panic, phobias, social anxiety, relationship issues, anger, OCD, bereavement, chronic pain, to name but a few. Other people may be looking for support with personal development and growth.

I can offer you a confidential space to talk and explore the issues with which you are seeking support. By focusing on your goals, we can work together to help you find your way and reach your goals.

I work with individuals both in the short and long-term.

Sarah N Wills

I am a Counselling Psychologist in training, in the final stages of a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at the University of the West of England. My qualification will lead to Chartered Registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am due to qualify as a Chartered Psychologist and Registered Counselling Psychologist at the beginning of 2019.

Experience

I have over seven years of experience of working within a counselling role; most of this experience has been gained through working as a Counselling Psychologist in training or as an Assistant Psychologist for the NHS. I have provided psychological therapy in a range of settings, including Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services, Carers services, Community Learning Disability Teams, and within educational contexts.

I have a particular interest in working collaboratively with clients to ensure therapy is specifically tailored to meet their needs. I take a client-led approach, and by focusing on the client's individual goals, I draw upon a range of psychological approaches in order to support the client to reach their goals.

I can help with:

• Depression and low mood
• Anxiety
• Stress
• Low self-esteem
• Panic and panic attacks
• Phobias (such as fear of driving or flying)
• Social anxiety
• Obsessive-compulsive disorder
• Relationship issues
• Anger
• Bereavement and loss
• Chronic pain
• Issues relating to being a carer
• Personal development and growth
