Summit have been manufacturing precision engineered products for over forty years, providing the service and quality both our National and International customers have come to expect.
During the last five years, Summit have expanded into new markets which has led to a range of special products. We are constantly reviewing our systems and procedures to ensure that we provide a quality service second to none.
As we continue to drive efficiencies into our business, we are confident of continuous improvements and growth.
Summit Engineering manufacture a wide and diverse range of components to the civil and military aviation industries.
We have the capability to 'fast track' those ever important AOG requirements in addition to the small and large production orders.
Summit offer more than a machine shop facility, we can also source aerospace spares, including elastomeric seals and 'kitting' - sub or complete assemblies.
Alongside our AS9100 accreditation, we have several key customer approvals, two of these being Goodrich and Eaton Aerospace. Summit not only supply products to drawing but also specialise in the repair and overhaul of existing aerospace fuel systems.
Summit Engineering have invested heavily in the equipment necessary to manufacture the 'FIRST TIME' quality that this industry has come to expect.
The requirement to produce mandrels for 'Packers' has been achieved by the installation of a number of long bed CNC lathes capable of machining up to 4 metres in length. However, up to 8 metres can also be achieved through the spindle.
'Swellable Packers' and 'Casing Patch' are typical products that can be produced in our Special Products manufacturing cell.
Pipes up to 18 feet in length can be accommodated and coated in such rubber compounds as Nitrile, HNBR and EPDM with a typical hardness of 70 or 90 IRHD.
Good 'bond' can be achieved to carbon or stainless steel such as 4140, 9 & 13 CR.
A typical autoclave cycle would see temperatures of 150 / 160 degrees centigrade at a pressure of 100 psi.
Profiles, islands and plain diameters can be achieved after curing on our 6 metre lathe.
Summit Engineering's Motor Sport division is incorporated within our Aerospace manufacturing cell. Both of these markets require the quality precision components expected of today's technically demanding environment.
This unit is well equipped with a variety of CNC and manual machine tools capable of machining some of the most exotic materials. Factory Our commitment to 'cutting edge' engineering, whether on road or track, has led to direct involvement in many motor sport projects including F1 and some of the world's fastest production road cars currently available.
With the repeatability of modern equipment and the well-honed skills of our established workforce, we are determined to satisfy the shortest delivery requirement commonly seen in today's motor sport industry.
Flexibility has become a way of life at Summit and support is offered at all levels.
Our aim is to surpass our customer's requirements at the best possible price.
Alongside contract review, planning and manufacture of our products, quality also includes many other operations including the control of outside processors as expected in a modern manufacturing facility.
Our dedicated quality team is always on hand to discuss any issues with our customers.
Summit Engineering is accredited to ISO9001 and AS9100 with Lloyds Register, which backs up our commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Inspection is the final operation of the product, but QUALITY encompasses the whole remit of our company ethics.
