Swinton Dog Training was established in 1991 by owner Karen Wood and has been run successfully ever since. For many years Karen has been a Member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers, Member of the Institute for Animal Care Education and Accredited Petcare Professional. Karen opened the Dog Day Care Centre in June 2010. Day Care is a great way to exercise and socialise your dog whilst your out at work, shopping or just need a bit of peace and quiet at home!
In addition to running Swinton Dog Training and Day Care, Karen has previously worked for the local council for eight years as a dog warden. She also spent three years instructing at a pet dog training club that was run by police dog handlers. With over 30 years experience, your dog could not be in better hands!
Swinton Dog Training has been training dogs and their owners since 1991. Karen was one of the first dog trainers in the North West to join the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme with Swinton Dog Training. Karen's achievements were acknowledged by the Manchester Evening News paper in 2001 when her ‘Magnificent Seven' passed the Gold award with flying colours. Swinton Dog Training offer weekly obedience classes held on Monday and Thursday evenings in Swinton town centre. Classes are held outside to ensure that dogs don't get stressed out by training in an overcrowded room. We train ‘rain or shine' with the exception of Bank Holidays. ll newcomers to Swinton Dog Training are asked to complete a 6 week Beginner/Puppy course which is pre-registered. To sign up for this course, please use this printable registration form or contact Karen for one to be emailed or posted.
Karen has been so successful with Swinton Dog Training, she has now extended her services to Swinton Day Care Centre. The Centre has been open for business since Monday 7th June 2010 and has been a complete success with both regular and occasional attendees visiting each week. Dogs that are left at home for long periods of time can find it very stressful and boring. Many dogs can become destructive or annoy the neighbours by howling and barking all day. Whether you are out at work, out for the day or just need some peace, your dog can benefit from a day at our Day Care Centre.
We have 2 dogs.. Buddy is just over a year old and has been mollycoddled by us to the point where he has fear aggression. After just 2 days with Karen and the team there is such a huge difference in him already. He thoroughly enjoys going to day care and is becoming a more confident happier little man.! Peggy is a new edition to our family and is having a great time socialising with other dogs.. They both come home very happy,, eat their tea and then settle together for a good sleep.!

Absolutely amazing place! My dog gets super excited going here with lots of toys to play with and on, other dogs to socialise with and fantastic friendly staff. Karen has a wealth of experience with dogs and I trust her completely with my puppy. If you want your dog to be somewhere with great facilities, lovely dogs and truly in safe hands then Karen and Swinton doggy day care is a great choice!

I take my dog to this amazing place whilst I work. Karen and her team are amazing! My dog (who is very energetic) is kept stimulated, entertained and happy for the whole day. When I get home at night she eats her dinner and then curls up in a ball and falls into a lovely contented sleep. She's always excited to go and I can go to work confident that she's being well looked after. I couldn't manage without this place! Lisa & Daisy (salford)
